Hiya, as no one has replied to you and, as I an empathise with the nostalgia you describe, I thought I'd tell you that I went to Uni of Wales, Swansea. Probably you don't care, but there you go. I read English, how about you? Rachel

Hi Rachel, It's good to hear from another Welsh exile! Do you also get strange urges to go back to Wales, just for the hell of it? My uncle has recently moved to a house that is about 2 miles from where I stayed at uni (freaky!) and he keeps offering to put me up..... I'm going in July! Must remember to take me bike, the beacon roads are awesome. I studied electrical and electronic engineering, started at the Poly of Wales and ended at the Uni of Glamorgan - same place, they just changed the name! ;-) Later. Alex.

Yes, I DO get strange urges to return! In fact, I've booked a holiday on the Gower this summer. It will be a bit different from the student days... as I will have my 3 children with me, but it will be good to visit a few old haunts again. I expect I will feel very old though. Rachel PS Although I studied English, I always had a soft spot for engineers.. in fact my husband is a mechanical engineer. But he went to Reading... very posh.

Rossily Bay What a place, there is a wonderful beach at the end of Gower just the place for the kids( you have to go out a long way to get out of your depth so very safe) loads of sand. I have spent some very good times there surfing in canoes and on body boards( I could not get the hang of the standing up bit).

I know it well! But the best is Three Cliffs... you have to walk along the river to get to the beach, it's a magical place! Rachel
