I have one of those "trendy" Beiter clones - got too hot with the big leather ones. Just a little bit of elastic round the back rather than thick straps. Don't wear one at all on the Coaching course when doing the barebow demos.

my first privately owned bracer was a cartel beiter clone....I didn't get to use it on the shooting line before it broke ... fat arms & cheap plastic no doubt. I currently have two of the longshot cordura ones...am happy with those.

Bowslings...now that's a different matter..have tried lots...and have settled on the one I hate least/get on with best - one of the string between infger and thumb type.

I'm pretty sure my skin is a string magnet. if it's covered up, i never hit my arm, if i ever forget my tubey grip or bracer then you can guarentee that in a few shots there'll be a thwack and an 'Ouch, **** i forgot my bracer!

Hmm, I always try to get anyone dealing with beginners to demonstrate "best practice"... so I wear full personal protective gear when demonstrating.

Duty of care and all that stuff...

Just my 2p worth.

I'll get me coat...

My armguard is priceless, apparently i have funny sticky out elbows, though i have STILL managed to catch my arm even with an armguard!!! Now wear an elastic bandage under the armguard and up over my sticky out elbows(psychological reasons mainly - i feel safer!!!)
