They said it would Happen

Ever had someone tell you something may happen and think naaaaa, im careful that will never happen to me, I was told it was possible at some stage my release may come loose on the draw.

Last night I was trying out my ACC's and it did just that, I am guessing the release arm was not clicked fully home, the result me punching myself in the nose . luckily I draw with my hand rotated as I shoot and it was the back of my hand not the release aid (knuckle duster) that hit my nose, just a little nose bleed nothing to stop me shooting for long Luckily I was on my own on the field and I found the arrow.

Sorry to hear of the nose bleed! We do trust the damn things don't we - that small collection of levers and springs. I caught myself wondering just how long they last before becoming unstable and unreliable. Considering I have not personally seen one fail, they do seem to be a mechanical work of art, considering the forces acting on them. The problem is that there is not much to tell you if they are OK of just about to disintegrate! I do tend to tilt me head to one side a little when I draw up, after seeing a similer thing happen to RGS last year.

You're not alone on that one - I've done it a couple of times now, but luckily no nose bleeds.

Shooting compounds is one area where you can beat yourself up... literally
