Try a danage, they are expensive but will give you the best VFM in the end. I usually wear out a straw boss with a compound in 2-3weeks.

You could try one of the layered foam ones and swap the layers around when they start to get shot out. I have a foam boss and so long as you don't plug away at the same spot it will last a long time.

i use the layered foam ones they have excellent stopping power i shoot 50# at 9m at home and it stops them no probs

| A word of warning on the foam bosses... if the arrows are wet, some bosses struggle to slow the arrow down. in which case, get a backstop net / thick backstop rubber. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Layered foam and Danage stop arrows. The danage is lightweight so very much more portable. It has a good surface for holding target faces where the layers can go into hollows that create tears in the faces after a while.Removing arrows from danage ones can be difficult for some archers.

I shoot the foam ones at home too, and with nearly 60lb I've never had a problem with my arrows stopping - wet or dry. Try and get one that uses threaded rod rather than banding as it will be easier to take apart and move the foam around as it wears

We shoot at a leisure centre and they bought 4 bosses but within 6 months we had one shot out and we only shot at it 2 hours each week. We were told it was a faulty batch and couldn't be helped. When we used them in the first week I thought they were a bit soft but thought it might be OK but I was wrong. So be warned ![]()
