| I've never shot a Fita before so I can't say whether I'm for or against this change. I think people who haven't shot for long (but aren't beginners) will find it a long day. I previously only did a beginners course when I was 13 before joining DMU archery club, because of this I wasn't classed as a novice, however I felt like I still was. I had never shot outdoors, yet alone 9 dozen and only practiced outdoors twice to get sight marks before going to Busa. I found it a long day and a long night (in the tent of DOOM!! Before you say anything Al, it was, a passerby even said "that tent is snoring!")! ![]() |

| if there is any kind of cross wind i cant see anyone from our club regularly hitting the boss at the longer distances. we have no outdoor facilities. on an albion my sight mark is usually the trees above the boss and i rarely score in the first end at a new distance. an albion is a LONG day for me, especially if its hot and/or sunny or raining. i can imagine a FITA will be worse. i might last the distance a bit better this year if i am a bit better prepared: more food on the line and less suncream sweating into my eyes....those were my bigest problems last year. |

| arent there any other clubs nearby or something like that so that you can go and get sightmarks there??

| maybe this year we could because we are becoming affiliated with GNAS, we werent last year. We do actually have outdoor facilities but our equipment store burnt down so we would have to hire vans to take gear out there so it's just not gonna happen! in the scottish uni (SUS) leaugue we have a couple of outdoor shoots before BUSA outdoors. BUSA outdoors 2006 was my 3rd outdoors ever, the previous two involved side gales and showers, so sun and mild breezes were quite enjoyable! to be honest im not fussed about the winning or the scores so long as i dont break any arrows and have fun! |
