Colours

Hi Guys

Ok, stupid question of the day coming up!

What is the "dress code" for archery tournaments? My understanding is that bottoms (not those you sit on, those you wear ) have to be green or white but tops can be green, white or club colours? Is that right?

What about additional things like chest guards, silly hats etc, must they also be green, white or club colours or can you wear any colour?

Do these rules apply at all tournaments or only some?

I know Im no where near ready to participate but just like to be one step ahead

Thanks

Witchie Poo Cat

Colour regs only apply to bottoms and tops.

Bottoms: white or dark green
Tops: white, dark green or club colours

In scotland, they usually apply to 99% of shoots (not necessary for absolutely every shoot - it's down to the organiser to decide for non-record status, and up here, so far, they seem to like to impose it regardless).

WPC,

Can I suggest that you have a quick search using the search tool in AIUK. You will find some VERY long treads on this.

Feel free to post your views on it. We haven't had a "GNAS Dress Code is rubbish" discussion for a few weeks now.

Sponge.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the responses.

Murray - Im a scot too but "emmigrated" to England a while back! Sometimes its easier when a rule is enforced all the time as it leaves no room for confusion.

Sponge - good idea, I did have a quick look but confess I didnt use search, me bad I dont feel qualified to argue the point yet, but give me time

GreenSteve - Yeah, one of the other members mentioned to me that he wears white trousers as club colours are blue/red so to wear green as well would be a bit much!

That hasn't stopped most of us on here!

Remeber that your views as a beginner are just as valued as an expert. If we didn't listen to the new people, we would never improve the sport.

NFAS doesn't have a dress code. You can shoot in a wedding dress if you like! Though I prefer Realtree myself...

That is until you get into the stupid arguement of whether the Dark green trousers/top you have on are really dark enough.

Strict dress code at record status shoots, otherwise just read what the entry says. Though I've been to three shoots this year where they declared inclemant weather when it wasn't. When asked why the judges said it was so they didn't have to check the club colours register!

WPO you'll learn that the GNAS clothing regs are like trying to please a women - it never happens and you always end up being the one in the wrong and saying sorry

I thought that the NFAS discouraged the wearing of camo clothing?
