Faulty Limbs/Alt Sports **UPDATE**

Hi Guys

Well after my limb saga with alternative sports they sent them back "corrected" and I got them today. They have changed the spring in the detent and must admit it does feel better. However, they STILL dont fit

The weird thing is they do actually fit hubbys riser (winstar) but its a push to get them in. One limb fits my riser but its a real push to get it in. The other limb just wont click into place. On checking the limb that does fit I see that the end of the limb fitting is lined up with the edge of the limb pocket when its properly fitted. The limb that doesnt fit, the edge of the limb is about 5mm above the limb pocket so something is obviously preventing it from going in.

Its even stranger when you consider that hubbys limbs (same make, different poundage) fit my riser like a glove. Also, took the riser to Archery World this morning and we tried 2 different sets of limbs and both fit normally so it MUST be the samick limbs that are faulty.

What Ive done for now is bought some more limbs, Kap Challenger, for now and will worry about alt sports on Monday when Ive decided how to approach them with this. The problem being that the limbs do fit one riser, just not mine and they sent them back with a note "corrected and now fit a range of risers from our stock" so I can see them being difficult with this one. Gonna take photographs of the problem so they can see and just ask for a full refund.

Wish me luck guys, Im a bit nervous about dealing with them and trying to get my money back but its gotta be done.

Incidentally, having visited the archery shop ive gone from a 66" bow with 18lb limbs to a 68" bow with 24" limbs! yikes. However, my current draw length is only 26" apparently so only effectively pulling 22lbs. Im gonna have shoulders like Arnie at this rate! At least I know that the limbs have some life in them as my draw length will hopefully increase over the next few months.

WPC, I've sort of lost track of all that has gone on recently. Is there a chance that it is the bits the limbs fit into that is the cause of your problem? The limbs fit several risers but not your riser-perhaps the riser is the problem. If that has already been discounted please ignore this post. This post hasn't got the sense to self destruct in twenty seconds!

Hi Geoff

No, I dont think thats the problem as Ive tried about 4 or 5 other sets of limbs and they all fit my riser, its just this one set that wont fit. Also, when I said they fit hubbys riser, they do so only after they were forced a bit but the limb pockets on his riser are different to mine so its hard to compare.

With all the other limbs fitting my riser no problem I definitely think its the limbs that are faulty and the riser is fine. I took the riser to the archery shop today and no comment was made (and one of my coaches works there and he would just tell me straight!) so again assume the riser is spot on.

Thanks for that. I thought I would have forgotten something from earlier posts, better to check though.

Email them in the first instance. Do not phone and you should be OK. They've always been very helpful with me when dealing by email.
