Modern...Hmm. Distances in feet, bow weight in pounds, arrow length in inches, arrow weight in grains (the only grains I knew anything about was the sand on the beach!) and arrows shot in dozens! Dozens - modern? No! We get dozens from the Babylonians 4,000 years ago, who used a mathematical system of base 60!
Every year I'm surprised that GNAS doesn't ask for its subs in groats!
