| RE: GNAS - The 10000 Dollar Question I have to add that badminton is supposed to be a media friendly sport. Many TV companies have tried to bring it to main stream. However it suffers from what has been mentioned earlier, there is no finicial gain if you become a superstar. Hence why the interest is low. |

| RE: GNAS - The 10000 Dollar Question The future of the net looks to hold the key. However, I've been thinking Could FITA not fun major competitions alongside major atheletics competitions, such as the world champsionships in Helsinki at the moment. This would mean the media circus would already in place and we might get some coverage. Especially the shoot outs. Could be logistical problems, but I think it would just mean a change in mindset |

| RE: GNAS - The 10000 Dollar Question Quote:
Its a solution, but I doubt many people would want to attrend the event to watch, and I strongly doubt a broadcaster would want to fill valuable broadcast time with a sport no one likes to watch. Maybe the solution is to get a cheap cable tv station haha</p> |

| RE: GNAS - The 10000 Dollar Question Why is everyone so sure that people don't want to watch archery ? I recall last year, popping into my local motorcycle dealers to get something or other and while exchanging pleasantries mentioned that I probably would not be going anywhere nice on my bike at the weekend, as I was doing an archery tournament. At which point it became apparent he had been an avid fan of the BBCi Olympic archery coverage although he knew very little about Archery, and with the ensuing torrent of questions I felt I was lucky to get away before they closed. Personally I think archery coverage would be boring, but then I cannot see the attraction in watching any other sport (including football) on the TV. While my friendly motorcycle dealer and avid “sports fan” clearly disagrees, I wonder if he’s alone.

| RE: GNAS - The 10000 Dollar Question Maybe its a case of just giving it a try on tv. It could suprise us all. |

| RE: GNAS - The 10000 Dollar Question I think people would watch it, we often have people watching the archery at St. Ives (Aire Valley) as the range is right next to walk round the lake. It's very handy when you're shooting at 80 yards and can't see your arrow but the young kid watching shreiks in delight as you've hit the 'yellow bit in the middle'.
