Sad day for OZ archery

I read with regret that Jackson Fear passed away. He was a young guy who burst onto the archery scene in the late 90's, won a junior world champ and held nearly every Australian record. He was in the Guiness book of records for a few years holding the 70mt FITA record. He will be sadly missed on the line

Very sad news. I met Jackson a couple of times when I was a junior. He was a great archer and a nice guy.

That's shocking news, especially since it's only about a year since his dad died. Condolences to the Fear family.

That is terrible. He was a fine archery and will be sorely missed. My condolences to the family.

Appalling news when one considers how young he was. A great loss for archery, but an incalculable one for his family. Do any of our Australian members have contact there? It would be good if our collective sympathies could be passed on.

Didn't we establish a kitty a while back for events like this? If so, is there enough in it for a floral tribute at the funeral? If not, would anybody like to make a donation?

I will put this link to AI on our forum, the funeral was held already but I'm sure the Fear family will be most appreciative of your kind regards.

If people would like to post messages of condolences, please do so on AF where his mother, Sandra Hodgson, has already posted her thanks.

Messages have also been posted by gt and Vittorio. The thread is here:
