| Robin Hood isn't from Nottingham...he was just around in Sherwood Forest (which back then would have covered quite a lot of Northern England). He's from Loxley, in Sheffield (Robin of Loxley) ~Jenny~

| On the 17th September, the Wakefield archers and Sherwood archers have a tournament called the Speake trophy to officially decide this matter. We (wakefield) always lose though because our long bow archers between them cannot muster a score to beat their guy on his own. Compund and recurve are always evenly matched but those stick shooters let us down. This is an annual tournament and has been contested for many years. But to cut a long story short, yes he was born in wakefield, he just went south to rob and then brought the loot back for us to share. |
