| I want to register my disgust... ...with my club's dress code for target days!! Yes, I know there are a million threads on here about the GNAS dress code, but this is specifically with my club, which requires the ol' green and white dress code at our club target days. I paid my membership, so I suppose in doing so, I've agreed to club policy. I passed my club's required proficiency tests with flying colours, however, because I cannot find appropriate clothing, I'm probhibited from shooting and therefore earning my classification. I'm sure you're sitting there thinking, "how hard is it to get the green and white?". Well, it is. I'm not pear-shaped like the majority of British women, plus I'm quite tall (yep, things are always bigger in America), so clothing shopping in the UK has always been an issue for me. I already have white trousers, so knowing I wanted to shoot today, I ordered a bottle green polo shirt, as well as a white one with delivery promised this week. They haven't shown up yet and I have been onto the company to enquire where they are. This morning I woke up early and went into town to quickly pick up a white t-shirt or polo shirt to get me by but couldn't find a plain one to save my life!!!! So, instead of shooting a western, I'm sitting frustrated and exhausted in my flat feeling more than grumpy. I'm definitely going to bring this issue up at our AGM in September and perhaps even nominate myself for the committee. They want young blood to shake things up. If that's what they want, that's what they'll get. I am going to get club colours if it kills me!! But that's another thread for another time. I was going to go down to the club and give my support to those who are shooting, but I'm so disgruntled that I'm going to boycott today and save them from my vitriol. ![]()

| Which way up is the pear?

| There's no pear involved.

| Was just wondering what shape most British Women were supposed to be.... Seriously though I think dress code on club target days is a bit much, unless maybe club colours - even then I'm not sure I'd be happy about it.

| I see what you mean, tel. British women are *typically* (I know, it's a stereotype) hippy. See the chart below for a generalised description of body types: ![]()

| Can't say any of them do much for me - though I don't suppose I make a very attractive silhouette either! ![]()

Anyway, we digress. My friend's just told me I probably could've found a plain top in M&S. Wish I would've known that this morning.

| Ah, clothes shopping! My specialist subject! Try H&M, they cater for tall people, and their men's stuff is pretty unisex too. I got my plain white suff there, and at New Look; they do all sizes. BHS sell a lot of logo free stuff. HTH Rach | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| My biggest issue is length. I'm 33" from shoulder to hip, so "tunics" are just long enough to look regular on me, anything else is far too short. Not to mention I have broad shoulders, so tops are either too narrow there or have been sized up and are ridiculously baggy. I find high street clothes here very poorly cut, which is why I tend to fill up a suitcase with clothes I buy in the US or have things shipped, but that takes time.

| Give New Look a try. It's not haute couture but they do some fun stuff. The fashion is for longer length tops at the moment, so it's a good time to stock up. Failing that, a men's plain white t shirt should be long enough? Maybe try the supermarkets.. no point in splashing out loads on something just for shooting in. ![]() Rach | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
