Ah, "Feisty". Given the derivation ([From old US dialect fist a small aggressive dog, from ME fisten to break wind]) makes the new series sound more like the Tony Robinson one of a few years back

BBC website has been updated and trailers are starting to appear on tv.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/robinhood/index.shtml. Info. from elsewhere if that it will start on 7th October at 7pm.

I'm a complete newb at this kind of thing, but is that bow historically accurate (for the location)?

There was something mentioned in the TV guide about the bow as it's some weird hybrid that 'experts' say may have been around at the time blah blah etc.

Though they failed to mention the bright yellow plastic nocks on the arrows that were also clearly in the picture, and me being no expert at all am pretty sure they weren't around then !!

Depends what you mean. Given that it was a crusader era, there's no doubt that the English would have known about the eastern style bows, might even have brought some back from the Holy Land. Whether they would have deigned to use them is another matter...

Good point. It will seem a bit strange having a Robin without an English Longbow though.
