Cadet FITA's

Firstly i would like to say Hi to everyone - i am totally new to this, so forgive me if i makes mistakes!

I dont shoot, but I spend my entire life driving my daughter all over the country to various competitions.

Next year, we are looking at getting some cadet FITA 60m qualifying scores, but there is a huge lack of tournaments offering this round. There are pletny of FITA tournamenets with Ladies and Gents FITA's, but not many with additonal metric rounds for juniors.

My question is why dont FITA tournaments start offering the new vadet FITA round (60m)? I can understand them not wanting to offer GNAS metric rounds, but this is a fully recgnised FITA round?

Chris

It's a good idea, the problems though may be time, venues or clubs to run the comps. Here in Scotland, very few clubs run competitions, often they run more than one (our club runs four, three of them two day events), so finding room in the calendar or the will to do another comp is hard to find.

Don't know what it's like further south though.

Many clubs have grounds suitable for practice but not necessarily suitable to hold a competition, which can limit what may be done.

Maybe archers on the forum could ask round their clubs to see what the feeling would be for one of them to run one for next year!

Who knows, it might work!

Note: EMAS Double FITA Star held at Lincoln is supporting cadet rounds and Metric's in addition to the usual L & G Fitas in 2007. Keep an eye in the ArcheryUK or see the Lincoln County Website at www.lincsarchery.org
