| I am be wrong but i always thought a Hereford was a ladies round and a Bristol 1 was a junior/ male round. Yep same distances and number of arrows at each distance

| Ahh - you might be along the right lines there, but from I can gather (from last years results) the York and Hereford are both senior rounds, (both sexes)and the Bristol 1 is a junior round, as there are no seniors' names on the results sheet for Bristol 1. Which begs the question - why are there juniors doing the Hereford?

| yep thats spot on. as a junior i sometimes shot a Bristol 1 on a same target as women shooting the hereford equivelent. i think the names are just used to help distinguish at competitions that have a broad range of age groups in the jnr competition

Why are there juniors doing a Hereford? Can be a number of reasons: 1. For the same reason a senior female archer shoot a York - for the challenge. 2. The U18 boys are classified as shooting a Bristol I, so do not compete directly with the Gents doing a Hereford. 3. Junior Girls that want to gain a higher level Senior classification shot the Hereford. There is a JMB girl at our club that shoots the Hereford in order to gain an adult classification. Plus, she wants to prove she can beat the adults- which she does. |

| I shot the hereford on Friday with 3 juniors, 2 male & 1 female. I won overall by scoring more golds but the 14 year old junior had the same score - her 1st attempt ![]()
