Easton question...

did easton start as an arrow manufacturer or were they something else and then branched into archery??

i ask as over the years i have noticed that easton make lots of other stuff too such as ice hockey pads etc and was just wondering which came first

The answer's actually in the same issue of Bow International as the feature on AIUK...

Easton started out making wooden arrows (and bows, as I recall), pioneered aluminium arrow manufacture, then started manufacturing carbon-wrapped aluminium arrows (ACC/ACE, etc), and then realised that the same technology that they used for making arrows could be used in the manufacturing of tent poles, baseball bats, and a host of other things (and diversifying their business must have made their accountants less twitchy!)
