| RE: Bow International Magazine I buy the odd copy when I go into archery shops, and it's a decent publication. It has a good balance of stuff on recurve, compound and traditional (unlike the Glade, which is almost entirely traditional these days). I'd say it's the best archery magazine available. However, it's in turmoil. Richard White has gone from the editor's chair, and it doesn't sound like a friendly parting of the ways. The new editor is Peter Jones, public relations officer of the GNAS. I personally don't like all the knocking of the GNAS, but I do think there's a need for independent publications to keep an independent attitude towards governing bodies. Will the GNAS' PRO be independently minded?

RE: Bow International Magazine I've recently taken out a subscription, and impetuously bought ten back issues on ebay. What I didn't think about was how old some of the copy would be as its a quarterly! Aside from the 'news' though most articles are still relevant and overall its a decent publication. What I cant help thinking though is shouldn't Archery UK be as comprehensive? I know all about the extra work etc. that must go into such a publication, but with a comparable cover price......? (Does anyone ever pay it?)

RE: Bow International Magazine Archery UK - you aobviously don't remember the early issues (I have them permanently by my bed, and I can recite them word for word!). The "cover price" was apparently necessary to have the thing registered as a magazine for various tax and postage purposes. No one is ever charged that, nor does it reflect the actual cost to each member. And, in my opinion, it shouldn't be as comprehensive as Glade and Bow, simply because it is just the "newsletter" and main communication medium of the GNAS - a function it carries out admirably. PS - did anyone else spot three copies of AUK on ebay the other week, ATTRACTING BIDS!

RE: Bow International Magazine I'll have to get someone to explain the 'various tax' purposes - might be worth getting myself registered as a magazine ![]() I wasn't knocking the publication as such and I agree it carries out its main function admirably, but that doesn't bar it from improvement - something that your bedside copies demonstrate if they are so basic in comparison. They do come up on ebay quite regularly - you would have thought anyone with an interest would already have a copy.

RE: Bow International Magazine What has happened in most cases that I know of - and I haven't a clue at which end the problem lies - is that GNAS have member name and number details, but no address. When I enquired when I might be likely to receive a copy they updated the info, sent me several back issues, and have been bang up to date ever since.....anyone who is wondering when they might receive a copy might like to check GNAS have actually got all the relevant details.
