Cricket Whites

Hi All, first outdoor comp since it turned colder at the weekend and I think the white shortshave to stay at home.. I only have cricket whites for white trousers but are these acceptable? or do I have to brave the shorts and hope for the best!

Brave the shorts! Up here we don't ditch the shorts until the snow comes over the tops of our boots.
Cricket "whites" tend to be cream these days, so a pernickety judge might well order you to take them off.

Is it really that picky? I was aksed to change from some adidas white trousers because they had quite a bit of blue flashing earlier this year, but plain cricket "creams"???!!!

Time to find another sport methinks..

An acquaintance of mine, who shall remain nameless, wears cricket whites and has got away with it so far. It is a bit of a gamble I suppose - unless you can find very very light cream whites...

Why find another sport? Try field archery instead - no dress code there, provided what you wear is safe (don't go into the woods dressed in a Ghillie suit).

Is it really that picky? Well, it depends on the petty official with the clipboard. Most of the time they're pretty good and will turn a blind eye to dress code infringements. Bjut then you get the ones who have to make a name for themselves....
