| I have only ever shot 1 FITA it was timed but shot as a 3+3 then collect, the 50/30M was 3 then collect.

| I've found this year that i get more tired shooting 9 dozen arrows in GNAS format than i do shooting 12 doz in a fita. The reason? I think its due to the lack of a decent rest inbetween shooting. In a fita, you can have periods of not shooting for anything up to around 12 minutes. i.e. you shoot first detail. You come off the line after 4 minutes. The next detail takes 4 mins 20 seconds. Then you walk to the targets, score, mark faces, and collect, then walk back. That takes a few minutes in itself. THEN the other detail is first and you have another 4 mins 20 seconds for them, then your own 20 secs to get on the line. All in all its quite a long rest. For some this is a bad thing, as you have longer to try and maintain mental focus between ends. For others it's a good thing, because as long as you keep your muscles warm, it gives them a chance to recover, making you that bit more fresh for the next end. 6 at a time, all the way! ![]()

| Yes agreed six arrows would be better ..... now how about we just reduce the time in which you have to shoot them? That should help speed things up a bit..... now running away to hide as well.

| I'll say "yes please" to six arrows ends too please. Timing system needs to be kept simple as the beauty of GNAS rounds is their relative simplicity for Tournament Organisers to put on. Judges could just blow archers off the line when their time is up!! You ususally get a clue when you're the only one left on the line Anyway Portsmouth rounds are timed so a precendent has been set.I've sometimes spent more time after shooting three arrows waiting for my target companion(s) to go on and shoot their three than I've spent on the line shooting my arrows ![]() |

| No thanks not for me! Other than the GNAS rule on how long it should take to shoot three arrows should be more rigidly enforced. From what I remember of shooting Yorks and FITAS there is not much difference in how long each type of shoot took overall. Things may have changed now as my last 12 doz tournament was 8 years ago. Also is variety not the spice of life. Lets keep the differences

| Totally agree, I am convinced that competitions have been getting slower and slower over the past few years.
