I was told by my GP Quaterzone ( I haven't a clue how to spell it but hope its near enough to understand) injections would curer the problem but could only be done a few times so wait untill you can stand the pain no longer. My ostiopath said more or less the same but added that the injections actually rot the joint.
Glucosamine Sulphate is also for joints and cartilage. I am told tesco sell it.
I understood tennis elbow was inflamation in the tendon.

Is quaterzone injection & steroid injection the same thing? I think so but am not sure.

Cortisone IS a steroid and it can help joint issues. I have intramuscular cortisone jabs for systemic arthritis, but you can have it injected directly into a joint if you fancy an excrutiating experience.

Tennis elbow- bain of my life...one of them.
Nothing hlps me - bar shooting far less than i want to. Support: does nothing other than remind me to take it easy when not shooting - as I cant shoot with a neoprne support...Heat aggravates the symptoms..cold is plain just uncomfortable...Glucosamine makes all my joints ache. Just rest it as much as you can is the best answer for me....and nope- I dont fancy cortisone!

Shot my first albion for 9 weeks last week...last end I felt a click around the olecranon process in the elbow....and promptly shot through the clicker. The very last arrow it happenned again! Rest all week and today Im expecting to shoot a full round again ---hopefully....any probs and I'll have to pack up immediately or return to barely shooting atall.

I have not shot since May as I have had tennis elbow in both elbows caused by shovelling 2 tonnes of gravel for the garden. I have had accupuncture which has had no effect and I am still in constant pain and if anything I think it is worse now and it actually wakes me in the night.

My GP has advised that the next step is Cortisone injections but I have been putting that off. I must admit watching the archery at the Olympics this week has really inspired me to get something sorted so that I can get back to shooting, even if I have to buy some lower poundage limbs for a while.

The constant pain also makes me very grumpy so my wife and kids are also keen for me to get the problem sorted!!!!

I suffered badly with tennis elbow last year, was so bad at one stage I could not pick up a telephone or a pint !

Accupuncture worked for a while then the pain came back, had the cortisone injection into the joint but got something called cortisone flare - essentially the cortisone crystalised and caused crystalline synovitis which realy does hurt.

In a bid to try anything I bought a Pain Ban x4000 machine (about £100) reccomended by a work mate, could not believe it - within 2 weeks all symtoms had gone and I have not had any issues since.

Now that IS serious

I suffer from Tennis elbow, tried resting it but that meant giving up shooting for months

Not keen on medication, in the past occasional use of Ibuprofen cream.

The main reason, I was agravating it each time I shot, because of the physical weight of my bow. Tried to reduce it but got to a point where the stabilisation was not doing it's job.

Used to shoot through the pain but last Feb had to pull out of a shoot for the first time ever so drastic measures were needed.

So changed from my beloved Whitehart to a Fiberbow and not looked back since.

Now shooting 3 times a week any number of arrows I feel like, this was not possible last year where I could only manage a dozen arrows a week.
