Why Should I Join Your Club

I am moving to the Scunthorpe area of the country early next year and assuming your club would let me and my folks join why should we choose your club let me know the pros and cons but no nasty remarks about other clubs.

I shoot Compound
Wife shoots Recurve
Daughter shoots Compound (U16)

We wish to stay in NCAS
Must have a decent junior club
must shoot minimum of 18 m indoor

Your answers will help choose a club and where we live!

The clubs in question that I want to know about are

1) Selby Archers
2) Hangingwood Archers
3) Harvester Archers
4) Wyke Archers
5) Circle Archers
6) Hull Kingston Archers

I'm just jealous you've 6 clubs to choose from.

Not sure who my 6 nearest clubs are, certainly most outwith any sensible drive time. good luck choosing.

Moose,
We have talked about this. I would guess that, for the sake of Yorkshire archery, all opinions should be PM'd. Which I shall do.

I was going to ask what is wrong with EMAS and the two emas clubs, Anchor who are actually at Scunthorpe and Grimsby, half an hours drive away, but since you have been so blantantly REGIONIST in your message, I'll save my breath. You're probably not good enough anyway and they wouldnt want you.

Hi Moose,
just a quick thought of the top of my head, although it may cost a few pennies more - have you thought about joining a second club. This way, you can still stay with your existing club and keep your affiliation with NCAS and GNAS. But it will give you a wider choice by looking at EMAS clubs within striking distance of Sunny Scunny in which to practice/train.
I do appreciate you wanting to stay within the NCAS catchment area as you probably have lots of friends there and the only major road out of Scunthorpe, the M180, heading west goes straight into NCAS territory, but we in the EMAS region are quite a nice bunch (and we've got some very handy compounders to test you) and we don't bite!
Anyway, good luck in your choice wherever you go.
Best wishes,
Steve

I have no loyalty to any of the clubs you have listed and if I had to choose I would visit both Hull Kingston and Selby first as I know that they both have good indoor and outdoor facilities and both clubs have excellent compound archers and coaches. I do not know too much about your other choices on your list re indoor venues ang club set up.

Nothing wrong with EMAS

I want to stay in NCAS for my daughter she has already represented them once as well as Lancashire and she has several freinds in both NCAS and yorkshire (she will be trying to get in to the Yorkshire squad).

I do not care for myself and my wife which region we shoot in, I am sorry if this offends those in the EMAS region but if your skin is so thin then any futher discussion will only offend futher. For those I do know from the EMAS region their skin is not thin

My one and last reason for staying in NCAS is I am a YORKSHIRE man and would like a crack at getting in to the yorkshire team rather than Lancashire where I am now.

Anyway if you want to start an EMAS NCAS debate be my guests it should be quite entertaining aslong as I get some sense about the clubs listed and I do not get the blame for the heated debate

Does no one go to these clubs

I thought the clubs listed actually had archers or is it just apathy that no one will tell me how good their club is, may be I should join an EMAS club at least they seem to want us
