Decent Archery In The Movies

We (all right, you lot, I don't know enough to comment yet) like to slag off the various films & tele progs that feature archery in them, but are there any that actually show decent, realistic archery?

I was kind of watching The Last Samurai last night and that seemed to have some good stuff in it, any others?

Although loads of people slate the archery in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Orlando Bloom did actually learn to shoot a bow for the part, and for most of the film his form was better than most I've seen. See second part of the short clip:

The Errol Flynn Robin Hood

Not so much Errol but rather Howard Hills shooting. If you get the chance to borrow the two disk version there is a documentary about the archery for the film how he never killed anyone is a wonder

I'm not sure if this counts but I did like the archery footage in Blade Trinity and Rambo II and III.

No that should not count. Well the Blade one atleast.

First I dont think Matthews makes a riser which articulates in the middle and sets itself up. Secound how would the cables stay on. Third the arrow off the wall and round the corner shot would not happen. The arrow would slide down the wall and stop at the first thing it hits and not bounce off the wall. Third I doubt you could get a matthews shooting less than 60lb with braodhaeads over 300fps letalone the speeds it reaches in the film.

Not seen Rambo but what I have seen (adverts and clips) it looks k to me.

Rant over.

P.S. be warned I like to rant about this sort of stuff. I hate factual inaccuracies in films and Tv.

No really I would never have guessed.

The bird uses a matthews as here weapon. In the begining rescue of blade she uses it to shoot round a corner.

Chronicles of Narnia and King Arthur - the latest versions that is.

Narnia - the eldest girl uses a bow
King Arthur - Guinevere and her band of Woads shooting the Saxon invaders.

Any film which is a remake of Henry V.

The Kenneth Brannagh version is very good, but the Robert Hardy version shows the archery to better effect (although the sight of the majority of the extras using flat bows was a little off).
