Difficult times ahead

Now the light really has gone after work....and we don't go indoors for nearly 2 weeks...I can see withdrawal symptoms on the horizon, and the likelihood of wandering round the house drawing imaginary bows & making 'thunk' noises...

RE: Difficult times ahead

I have always been amazed by the number of archers who have practice ranges at home. Such as: a girl who rests the boss on her bed and shoots from alongside the dressing table; an archer who shoots on his top landing, but has to rest the boss on the floor and shoot from the stairs because the ceiling is too low; archers who shoot through their open front window into their sitting room.
I can't because all my hallways have doglegs, and the house is overrun by cats who would pop up and distract me.
With a little ingenuity you will be able to fix something up. Just don't practice clout in the bathroom.

RE: Difficult times ahead

Pete - you will have to join us on an evening in Guiseley where we have set up an indoor range (just short of 20 yards)!!

That's a very kind offer LMP, which I will most certainly take up!

I know a few BoAers who are doing that- I might have to look at some shed reorientation...I can get a ten yard range if I shoot from under the silver birch past the clothes line over the wheelbarrow...

RE: Difficult times ahead

I don't have that problem. I have access 24/7 to the club. I work just 1 evening a week, teaching archery at night school.#If the weather is not too good, I can set up in the car-port.

RE: Difficult times ahead

Reminds me of an old episode of "One Foot in the Grave" where Angus Deighton's character was shooting on his front lawn. He'd opened the window into the fron room, the kitchen door and the back kitchen window and was shooting through the house at a boss in the back garden! Brilliant idea. (bit lethal though!)

RE: Difficult times ahead

I have to make do with the 4-6hrs practice I get each week after uni - the only place I could shoot indoors is the bathroom as it's the only place with high enough ceilings...but then it's only about 15ft long, and i'd have to be stood in the bath with the boss in the shower. Not a player. Thankfully the back garden is about 25m Long (though very narrow...)...I need a boss for the back garden :->.
