Just a question,

how valid are magazines with the internet content available?

I received my latest and last copy of Bow international, only to find the majority of the content had been on here as a discussion point way before the publication.

To me it seems that the online content on these forums, and the information spreading it achieves, means that the publications are now no longer leading the discussion and instigating it, they are trying to keep up.

for this reason I am no longer going to subscribe, i cant justify the high cost (its the start of the year and those damn credit cards!!) for information freely available.

I guess this may upset a few people, but you have to be realistic, they need to offer more for the subscription fee.

cheers

Joe

Thats pretty much why I picked up, then put down Bow International. A lot of the content was verbatim off the internet, and the rest just wasn't worth reading IMO, and pages of advertising bore me.

Archery Focus is much better, although its American (so has some hunting articles), the sheer volume of well written articles for both compound and recurve archery is fantastic. Also looks at the mental side of archery, and other aspects.

Well worth the read, and as I've posted before, an online subscription also gets you full access to the back issues (which are still very usefull).
I use the content of these mags for coaching as well. I've printed off two articles tonight to give to an archer specifically to help them with the points that we will be dealing with.

Kae.

I have to dsagree with you about Bow International not being very good, personally I have found the articles that John Dudley had contributed very useful.

If you don't support magazines like this they could end up going the way of Archery Focus, and then you'd just end up with Archery UK !!!!

Go to Johns site and the articles are there before the magazine is delivered, found that out this week.
