Magazines

Been waiting for my archery UK to arrive before I decide if I want to pay and subscribe to another magazine.

Well it is here and was not really worth the wait so I am looking for a recommendation for an archery magazine, I am aware that the Glade exists and have read a few old copies is there anything else out there worth a look, preferably something I could subscribe to that would be delivered direct.

Archery Focus (www.archeryfocus.net) is the best one going at the moment, IMO.

Agree 100%

I've had an online subscription for the last 3 years, so i've got each issue, AND it gives you access to all the back issues for nothing!

Fantastic.

Kae.

You could try Bow International. Seems to be quite compound bow oriented and quite good for 'traditional' archery as well. Pretty thin for recurve, though.

Available from online archery shops and by subscription. I get mine from Perris.

Nice thing about archery focus is being able to subscribe online, allowing you to access past copies, it's great.

Talking

i can recommend Bow international, i find it a good read and it is delivered to the door bi - monthly

Especailly good this month as there is a picture of me winning my clubs Bow International Summer series !

It is a free to enter competition for your club , they provide the medals and winners glass plaque , you shoot over the summer three differant rounds and send in a report and pictures , the club is entered into a draw for £350 archery goods and series winner for each club is also entered into the draw .

Hope they do it next year

Just Subscribed to Bow International, If anyone is looking for a subscription link that you need to go to the Blaze Publishing Site as the Old Bow international Website you get if you go through Google is well out of date.

May well have a look at archery focus also but would go for the magazine subscription as I already spend too long every day staring at a PC monitor.

The Glade's too concerned with trad archery these days for my liking. Recurves and compounds tend to be limited to the adverts.

There is a reason for the heavy Compound content. The editor is Richard White. Father of Chris White Uk no1 Compound archer and world record holder for 6 doz at 70m. Richard is a proper nice fella but never printed the picture of the UK Junior Nat Indoor Champs with me with my Winners trophy. Think it was because my hair was a mess at the time of the photo.

Not any longer, Richard gave up The Bow a couple of years ago, and its now run by an independent publisher. I think its Peter Jones is editing.
