Sorry. should have explained in more detail. the bows I have in mind are fibreglass "stick" bows we use for outreach. None are above 12lbs (I know some fibreglass bows can be though - I too used to own one) and all are looking a bit worse for wear. Thats what I mean by rubbish. We could use them without fear of damaging some posh kit when dashing around the chosen ground. So yes, I agree, they are a perfect solution to suit the conditions.

I like the principle but not sure about anything that encourages people to point bows at each other. It is the wrong mind set in my opinion, and if the cross over to other forms of archery, then I would not want to be the first person to encounter them

I have to agree. Bows are for pointing at targets and never at people.

Hmmm. Take archery and paintball - two good sports (well, sport and game) and put them together. "Bound to be a winner," they think.

Let's see what else suggests: darts and waterskiing perhaps, or maybe javlin and tiddlywinks!

Just a postscript here - the blunts you can buy in the shops ARE NOT intended for shooting at people. I once shot at a door with one, and burst the skin of the door in one shot (with a very low poundage bow), after several ends at a proper target, the arrow came through the end of the blunt!!! Not safe. Not even close to safe.
