| It looks interesting. I wonder how useful it is? I suppose the next thing will be a bow that shoots bullets. Hang on; that's been done. |

| I'm bemused. Why not just use a bullet? Last edited by Tom; 02-12-06 at 07:09 PM.. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| How do you work out the spine and draw length? ![]()

| Probably for safety reasons. A bullet has a much longer lethal range, so a spear gun (for that's what this surely is) is a better option in areas with a high human population. I imagine spine doesn't come into it - just get the stiffest arrow you can find. It's not archery at all IMHO, but I wouldn't mind one for laughs. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

It looks like a gun, but shoots arrows, so is it technically a gun or an air powered crossbow? | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| Its a gun! It indeed does require a FAC as it uses a blank firing "rim-fire" round to propel said arrow.

| The Airrow Rimfire -only- accepts aluminum arrows in size 2512, of 16 inches length, with curled vane fletching, and NO Nock. It contains two barrels, one outer barrel and an inner floating barrel that runs up into the 2512 shaft. No photos were given of the arrow / crossbow bolt, being loaded or info on broadhead use. They claim 425 fps speeds. They also claim that current bows only give 200 ~ 260 fps. I was under the impression that some of the current top of the line compounds could generate 300+ fps. I think I'd like one of these Airrow shooters just for the collection. But $800 is a lot of money for to say, see what I got. I'd rather spend the $300 on the Paintball Bow from Airow Gun and use it on my buddies. |
