O.K. When they're ready I'll try and do one in Purple ..just for you....

back to Thunks original post about keeping warm Think .....head......hands..... and.... feet... these are the primary areas of thermal dissipation.
Head... use a good quality hat that has a little space or gap right at the crown of the head and covering for the ears...
Hands... use good thermal gloves and if you get them .. thin under gloves (Horse riding cloves are good for this as they have rubber pimples on the palm and they're so thin you can shoot in them)
Feet... two layers of socks.... a thin cotton or wool sock next to your skin then, a thicker sock on top. DON"T squeeze your foot into tight boots .. small air gaps will act as an insulating layer... and finally waterproof boots. don't let your feet get wet, wet feet chill the underlying blood vessels.

.. hope this helps

That would be me Never did find a company that could make a chest guard to fit. Good job you don't really need one with a compound.

I agree with the boots advice - mine are the next size up, and I wear thin socks and a thermal sock over that. My feet are normally toasty all day.

One of the warmest tops I ever shot in was made of a waterproof layer under a rugby shirt style top. You rustled a bit, but it was windproof and no matter how wet the top got, you stayed dry underneath. It cut the need for a waterproof jacket between ends too. I believe the company still makes them... not sure if I can say who it was though..

xx

If you wear a waterproof under a top it needs to be breathable! Gortex ot Sympatex are 2 names that come to mind. If they are plastic materials you will get wetter than if it was raining! try wearing a bin liner to get the idea

Also a top needs to be quiet, the noise from a crackly top can be quite loud!!

It was a breathable fabric Gunmender - the tops were specially designed for archery and are close fitting on the arms so that they don't get in the way. I've seen lots of them on the line, they're pretty popular, but a tad expensive.

The rustling is more of a gentle swish than an all out crackle by the way

Just as well Micky, the new range sounds just ideal. You just cant beat the new fabrics for the comfort when wet.
