Archers with BO

Has the problem ever happened to you, Indoors or Outdoors when you are at the line and a fellow archer has such a bad BO problem it puts you off shooting and turns your stomach over. What do you do, tell him, make it obvious it is him who has a problem, be sick, stop shooting and go home. No doubt the PC brigate will be at me for posting such a topic but I am getting fed up with shooting alongside certain archers who have a BO problem, do nothing about, and carry on regardless of the effect they are having on others. Whilst we have have rules about shooting , one of the rules should be not to cause offence to other archers by any means. Anybody got any good ideas, had the same problem, how have you handled it, have you said anything.

Yes, I just keep quiet and hold my breath. I mean it only takes a few seconds to spray youreself with deoderant, rather than smell like a weight lifters towel

I keep quiet. Except at the club where one very friendly person keeps trying to put his arm round me. I back away and hold my breath.

On the tent line, not whilst shooting enquire loudly if there is a pig farm near by

Tell him "Oi stinky!"

Seriously, the majority of poeple that have serious body odour don't really know it.

Perhaps he'll be grateful?

Not a problem I have (I hope) I lost my sense of smell several years ago, & if I did have a problem, I would hope my friends would tell me about it, as would be more embarased to be causing an offensive honk, than being told about it !!!...

I had a female friend who had no sense of smell, she was quite happy to be told she was a bit wiffy or that she had overdone it on the perfume (I could never understand why she spent money on something she could never smell herself, but that’s girls for you). She even used to ask if her flat smelled OK when we went round.
If the person in question has no sense of smell then they will probably be happy if you let them know. If they just don’t bother washing then that’s a different matter, time to move down the shooting line as far away as possible.

I met a chap who is a really nice bloke and a good shot too but whenever i see him (maybe on 5/6 occasions), he ALWAYS SMELLS. I think maybe he has some kind of medical condition it is so bad, so i have never wanted to say anything, I dont want to offend him. Maybe its not his fault and cant do anythink about it?
