| I'd have thought the water would slow everything down so much that it wouldn't actually leave the bow... EDIT: Two minds with but a single thought. Revised thought: Some sort of parallel limb compound, something with little actual limb movement so it's all done off the cams - that might work? Bowtech Allegiance, for e.g?

| Get one of those James Bond gadgets that he had in the one set in the Caribbean - the little red and white thing that holds about ten seconds worth of oxygen? Or take the regulator out and just hold your breath...

| arrows would surely 'fly' underwater if heavy enough (witness compressed air spearguns) as has been said the question is whether a bow would generate enough thrust to overcome hydrodynamics and actually shoot the arrow in the first place maybe a longbow with a more rounded limb profile would do better than a flat limbed recurve ? slainte : rob

| We're moving off message here. We've got to get back to to the underwater archery solution. To summarise we're going to employ a james bond style aquatic respiration device and a thin limbed bow of some description to conteract the water pressure. May i suggest a limb specifically designed to cut through the water? |
