Underwater Shooting (yes.. underwater shooting)

Innocuous question I know but.... has any one ever shot an arrow under water. Not miss a target in a field shoot like I did last year and see your arrow float down a stream. I mean standing in the bottom of a swimming pool/lake etc so you're totally submerged with water over your head and bow, possibly wearing scuba gear adjusted so you get good arrow clearance(!) etc and let an arrow go.

How clean was your release?
How far did the arrow go?

Alternatively, has anyone seen any video of said activity on you-tube.

If the answer to all of these is no, and you are interested in seeing said results, I think we should club together and financially fund this experiment.

I'd have thought the water would slow everything down so much that it wouldn't actually leave the bow...

EDIT: Two minds with but a single thought.
Revised thought: Some sort of parallel limb compound, something with little actual limb movement so it's all done off the cams - that might work? Bowtech Allegiance, for e.g?

Get one of those James Bond gadgets that he had in the one set in the Caribbean - the little red and white thing that holds about ten seconds worth of oxygen?

Or take the regulator out and just hold your breath...

arrows would surely 'fly' underwater if heavy enough (witness compressed air spearguns)

as has been said the question is whether a bow would generate enough thrust to overcome hydrodynamics and actually shoot the arrow in the first place

maybe a longbow with a more rounded limb profile would do better than a flat limbed recurve ?

We're moving off message here. We've got to get back to to the underwater archery solution.

To summarise we're going to employ a james bond style aquatic respiration device and a thin limbed bow of some description to conteract the water pressure.
May i suggest a limb specifically designed to cut through the water?
