| From what I have read it's all down to Price Regent (C1844) who overhauled the scoring system and target face colours to what we have today and introduced the York round NB he also shot in Green and White....... At the weekend I found a great book called How to train in Archery published towards the end of 19th C. I have a facimile edition 1970 ISBN 0 90029 421 3 and it goes into great detail (for the time) as how to shoot the York round with a longbow which seems relevent today. |
