| You're not wrong Pete - I spent most of the summer talking archery (coaching!) and not actually shooting, and when I recently returned to the shooting line in anger, I was absolutely awful - and still haven't managed to crawl out of the slump! One or two of the guys that I've trained up this year are putting in better scores than me (one's even just broken the club Portsmouth record - which I would like to think is something to do with my coaching, but is probably more to do with raw talent - his not mine!)... Moral of the story - Unless you've got 'the calling' to go coach, if you want to keep putting them in the gold, keep stepping up to the shooting line and putting 'em in the gold!

| I shot yesterday at Aire Valley for the first time in a month (coaching always gets in teh way!). First dozen was awful - I just couldn't control a thing. Dozens 2 - 3.5 came together, with scores improving each half dozen, up to the levels I would consider I should be at. Then, whoomph, last three half-dozens collapse along with stout party. Shooting regularly not only maintains the "groove" but also stamina, which you cannot store, only maintain.
