I shared a very good time with Peter Jones in America at a summer camp (1979) Ken Mont/Ken Wood camps on Connecticut and funnily enough we both went on to win the British Indoor Champs! He went with target and I went with Field. I still remember how the kids were in awe as we shot into paper cups pinned to a boss at 20 yards.

Pete helped me train for the 2002 Europeans, I remember one time shooting 3 arrow head to heads with him on a FITA 18 face (with one arrow shoot off's). He was sick as a pig that he lost 11-3 but he actually shot 593 for the full FITA under head to head conditions and most of the ends went to third arrow shoot off, me just winning on a closer 10. And... he's a great bloke (very modest).

Ive just reread the original post I hadnt notice it says archers old and new,So I'd like to add Archery_mum to the list, To switch to compound and make G.M.B. in less than 12 months has got to be the stuff of legends

He got into archery too late to have been around for the events that people are referring to here. As for my opinions, I have no idea, I started 4 years ago and haven't really paid any attention to national rankings etc. until recently.

Ah I see... I've been shooting for 2 years but have spent many a night with Lez & co in the pub, all telling tales of years gone by.
