it could be that you've got the archers paradox, but have you tuned your bow by using a Walkback (outdoors) or Bareshaft tuning (in doors).

It could also be your be your technique thats lettting you down...

I think it was 30 yds, not that impressive really, but i'd only been shooting for 2 or 3 weeks !!
