I'm ashamed to ask, but What is it?
sorry but i've seen people chatting about them, seen the product on sale in an internet shop, but don't know what it does, or why you use them..
Thanks..

Rather than me explaining it, I thought I'd post this:

"The ‘Clicker’ is usually a strip of spring steel attached to the
riser. The arrow is placed under the clicker so that at full draw,
the arrow point will be pulled from under the clicker. It will
then snap back against the bow making an audible ‘click’
noise. At this sound the archer will release the arrow.
The purpose of the clicker is to aid consistency as even half an
inch difference in draw length can make a significant
difference to the power in the shot and therefore the vertical
distribution of the arrows."

Useful in windy conditions to keep the arrow on the arrow rest and against the button. I use it properly in 5 out of six shots at one end today and got 5 x 9's and the 7 using the clicker incorectly.

A button helps the arrow to fly in a more consistant mannor by straightening it up as much as possible before it flies. Again another super essential piece of equipment.

the pressure button/plunger/cushion/whatever else has 2 main functions. basically it puts your arrow in the centre of the bow and it helps compensate for finger releases. there are many things that arent known about equipment even by people shooting for years, and no we dont hate novices, as we all had to learn once!

My button seems to be for making my arrow fall off the rest as I pull
If a clicker keeps it on I want one.

Maybe a good beginner book would help or Murrays Marvelous Magazine or if the top shelf is too high his famous guide that could well might be in the links directory.

-- you dont need a clicker just a hoyt super rest with the lip intact, that should keep it on if the correct foam spacer is used, but a clicker is by far a better thing to buy, especially if it is manufactured in germany.
