Unhappy Better stay home...

Hi all

this is more a rant than a fonz candidate but here I am..

Day 1: went two times from the desk to the shooting line because:

first: I forgot the button...

second: I put the string the wrong way... You know: in this case it is MANDATORY to unscrew stabs AND sight before going to the post and re-string the bow but, since I was so eager to shoot (or simply lazy) I left the sight on the riser... as soon as I freed the upper limb from the string the bow went BANG! throwing the limbs and the riser (with the sight) around...

damages: the sight is safe (I wonder how! It landed right on the extension bar) and the riser has now an HUGE scratch on the upper limb socket... painting and metal is scratched.

This accident did not keep me away from the shooting line: after careful checking of everything, I went to the 15m line to see if the sight was ok.

It actually was! Infact I put four arrows in the same 1sq. inch spot! Never happened before, but two arrows had been unfletched...

Still, I did not want to pack and go home. With two arrows left, I continued, just in time to discover that the clicker kept unscrewing and my toolbox was sitting on my desk at home...

Day two: After a weekend spent in checking the bow and sight, trimming and fixing the clicker, cleaning the button, cutting some Oberon for my tabs (comments will be posted soon in a more appropriate forum) and refletching the four arrows, yesterday I went back to the field... again I noticed that I did not mount the button... not surprisingly, it was sitting on my desk at home... 90km away from the bow...

By chance I had with me my wife's bow button, a bit longer and softer than my settings. The button was ok to shoot at 20m but I can not use the clicker with it, so I decided not to touch it and continued to shoot.

Everything was ok for a couple of rounds, until I put an arrow under the clicker...

... a soft button and a springy clicker don't mix: at the "click" the arrow jumped off the rest, I released and the arrow went somewhere at 45 degrees from the intended direction...

Now I wonder...

Today I have my scratched bow here in my office, 5 arrows left, my button and my tabs with the new face to test...

Should I go and shoot?
What else could happen?
Did I forget something else?

cheers

Problem solved:

I have a meeting at 18:30, so... no shooting for today...

How come that if I bring the bow at work then I have to stay till later?

cheers
