Unhappy The Fonz Award - A Reminder

Well folks, it's been brought to my attention that some of my comments have been less-than-favourably received... What can I say? If you enter this forum, you leave your pride (what's left of it) at the door.
Long term users of this forum know by now that I don't discriminate; I ridicule everyone with the same fervour. Including myself. I think I've shared some of my embarrassing episodes with my AI comrades; the superglue incident, that regretable incident with the goat and the marmalade... (maybe I kept that one to myself!)
And if you don't believe me, here's another of my episodes (non-archery this time) for your amusement.
I was attending a black-tie dinner last Friday at a Manchester hotel. "Be prepared" has always been my motto, so I had my Tux dry-cleaned, had a haircut, ironed my shirt and polished my dancing shoes. Thinking it would be a nice treat for Mrs. Flinger, I booked a room for the night.
I thought it would be nice to check in early so I could use the hotel's gym, which I did in a surprisingly uneventful fashion.
Afterwards however, in the changing rooms, things took a turn for the worse. A hand-written note taped to the shower door apologised to members for the problems they'd been experiencing with the adjustable shower nozzels. So obviously, I was looking at the afore-mentioned nozzel as I turned the shower on. I was still staring expectantly at the nozzel (a large cast brass and chrome affair) as it flew off the wall and smacked me in the eye.
There are 3 types of Tuxedo wearers in my experience: those that look great (the Pitts and Clooneys of this world), those that look like waiters and those that look like bouncers. I generally fall into the second category, but on Friday night, in my imacculately pressed suite, sporting a huge shiner, I looked like a bouncer.
What a prat, hey?

Tough!

Hope it wasn't your shooting eye.

Mr Flinger
You carry on as usual.
Pride is only there to be pricked and remind us that we're all fallible.
I shoot field and at this time of the year there are not many field shoots on so I've started doing a bit of indoor target with my log bow.
Having set my trusty rubber band to twenty yards and being ever so ever so careful not to move it I went to a local club to shoot a Worcester last week.
Sighters, draw up, align band, loose, watch arrow drop gracefully two feet under target.
Thought to myself "Golly,What a frightful nuisance" or something similar "Must have moved the rubber band"
So I adjusted said band and got one arrow out of five onto the target.
It was only after I had shot another four arrows that I realised that I was using my field anchor(side of mouth) instead of target style(under chin). DOH!!!
Please feel free to comment, ridicule, make mock or whatever.
On the plus side I'll not do that again,I'll probably find something else to #### up.

That's the beauty of archery, Provins. Even if we remember all we've learnt and execute it properly, there's always a piece of equipment ready to fail and make us look like complete dorks.
If we can't laugh at ourselves, that's at least half the fun gone!

I think it is safe to say people will realise the whole self ridicule aspect of the fonz award and everybody's pennyworth stuck to 'add insult to injury' as the saying goes!!
