How to *not* adjust your sight...

Ok, so, still a little new to this archery business.

At the time I hadn't the slightest clue how to adjust a sight.

Picture this:

Target bag, on a stand, in my bedroom.
New archer, brand new sight, adjusting it all the way *down*.
Lining up the sight window with the middle of the target bag. (Not paying attention to the angle of the bow, just completely, 100% concentrating on the sight pin and the gold)
Full draw, release, SMASH! BANG!

Realized how to adjust a sight pretty fast after that.

Casualties: Arrow sized hole in the wall, one broken mirror with a larger than arrow sized hole, and one Easton aluminum arrow with a dulled field point.

Needless to say, the archery lessons were well needed after that.

It happens to seniors as well as begginners, as a few fonz's have been picked up by people shooting in their house's, either as one discribed it as "a clicker related brain fart" (think a window got it) or mistakes in sight adjustment along the line's of - they shot 30M yesterday but didnt bother changing their sight for the 5M they get in their garage/shed (myself included in this one). heeheee

I do know of 'a feller' - who after shooting at 80/100 yards decided to shoot at fifteen yards in his garden.

Over the boss- over the 'high arrow shield' over the fence- into the carpark- off of the only parked car in the carpark and twenty or so yards into a football pitch.
i (um He) will never figure out how it got to travel so far- about 170 yards....point down in the grass, clout style....could have killed someone.
