Possible fonz?

Don't know if this will count as a proper application for a Fonz or whether it is just plain stupidity, but had a bit of a problem that caused some ribbing from certain members of the club last friday. Anyway, here we go...

I'd decided that I wanted to see whether it is possible to shoot my alis off the blade that came with my launcher rather than the prongs that I've got at the moment. Put it on Wednesday afternoon and, to put it bluntly, it was a complete disaster - couldn't even manage to bring the bow up without the arrow falling off. In the end I just put the prongs back on and let them be.

Friday comes along and its my last shoot in Bristol before I head off for my Easter holidays. The shots are coming and feeling reasonable, and usually they go somewhere near where I aim them when that happens, but for the life of me I couldn't work out why they weren't going anywhere near where I wanted them. Took a look at the arrow on the rest and realised that the centreshot was way out - that would explain it, I must have messed it up when I put the prongs back on. Anyway, sorted that problem out and they started to be a little more central, but a little low. Ok, so that's just form and anchor causing that (I was fiddling around with different anchor points) or so I thought. No matter how consistant my anchor was and how much I moved my sight I just couldn't bring them back up into the gold. I puzzled over this for a few ends until the answer hit me. Whilst sorting out the centreshot I'd had to loosen the prongs a little and unbeknownst to me, they had been slipping further apart as I was shooting. I only realised this when the arrow completely spread the prongs apart and fell through the middle, much to the amusement of Mike who was shooting behind me at the time.

I know I didn't cause any damage to myself or my equipment, but I thought it would be worth trying for one.

I once did somthing similar with a spigrelli drop-away rest. Set the centre shot and then forgot to tighten it back up couldn't work out why my arrows kept drifting to the left (no matter how much I adjusted the sight) as I shot a portsmouth until the very last end when I discovered my mistake.... fool that I am!!

Close, but no cigar.... Now if you'd have coated it in deoderant first and then shot it, then maybe... Better luck next time

Mark my words - I will have that Fonz by the end of the year - its my latest goal.

Slightly confused why deoderant would have helped though Dave.
