This set of Arrows is defiantly cursed, Sunday PM weather not to bad so son decides to try out his new Arrows in the back Garden. We are lucky enough to have a long garden & can shoot up to 50 yards. Honourable son after a couple of ends at 20 yards manages to misfire one into the 20 foot earth bank at the end of the garden this is covered in Brambles, After 20 minuets struggling up & down the bank getting cut to pieces by the Brambles I gave up. All andy had to say was that I should have got a dozen !!!

Got a brand new set of ACEs, courtesy of Aardvark.

Shot three fletched ones - highly delighted to see they're grouping (3/4" group) perfectly in the gold at 20m...

Thought it might be a good idea to shoot an unfletched one to see where it lands relative to the group.

Unfletched one shoots looks very weak, and completely misses the boss.

Then I remember that I should have dialled down the plunger button to a weaker setting, as my last set of arrows were way too stiff - D'oh!

Anyway, the probable landing spot right next to a chain-link fence, which interferes with the metal detector...

One down, eleven to go...

And then I'm shooting a few arrows after coaching a couple of beginners, and there's an almighty bang, and I've only gone and 'Robin-Hooded' my arrow into someone else's... And everyone says that I'm not allowed to extract my arrow from the nock-end of the other arrow...

Two down, ten to go...

Um, if you'll pardon me for saying so, why the hell not? That's mad, and frankly I'd ignore anyone who told me something that daft.

Err I would be telling every one to go take their face for a S&%t. At near £20 each , get the thing pulled out, it may be OK.

I know - but everyone was so impressed that I'd done it (especially me... and the beginner whose arrow I'd 'Robin-Hooded'!)...

Luckily, the arrow that I hit was one of those cheapo Secura carbon jobbies - and with no aluminium core, I'm fairly certain that no damage has been caused...

I think I'll keep it in place for the moment (I have got 10 others to shoot with after all!), and use it as a backup if I'm running low!

Wasn't there an Xmas issue magazine article about this sort of thing (could have been the NFAS one though), about incubating gold scoring arrows with their less educated peers so that they would learn to group together in the gold?
