Button Blunder

As I said folks, the Fonz Award will be awarded retrospectively, so it gives me enormous pleasure to welcome Tim Mason to the roll call of stupidity. For his bewildering inability to distinguish black from blue - both on his bow AND on the target face I would imagine - we salute you.
We only wish we could have been there to enjoy your frustration as your arrows sailed inexplicably to the left!
As the legend that is Arther Fonzerelli said: "Aaaay, I'm up and moving!"

I hereby claim the title of Idiot of the Week.

I have two Shibuya DX pressure buttons for my recurve: a blue one set up for aluminium arrows and a black one set up for carbon arrows. Can you guess yet?

I was shooting with the carbons today and everything was going way left. This was frustrating, especially since everything was red or yellow last week.

Just before the last half-dozen, someone suggested that maybe my pressure button needed tuning. I looked and...wrong chuffing button!

RE: Button Blunder

At risk of nominating myself for a Fonz Award...

Was coaching a bunch of young newbies and curiosity got the better of them as to what was in my bowcase... so decided to give 'em a demonstration (to much intake of breath and 'wows') of my Aerotec with the full compliment of stabilisers.

Trouble was I couldn't work out why my ACEs were all over the place at less than 15m... until I spotted that I had neglected to put the button in altogether!!! DOH!

My young friends were distinctly more impressed when, with the button installed, I was able to consistently put them in the X!

Pride comes before a fall, or as the great Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli himself once said, "When you're this cool, they're all out to getya..."
Well done Toby, and welcome to the forum. Consider yourself well and truly honoured with a shiny new Fonz Award for your mantle piece!

RE: Button Blunder

Fantastic - I've been a member of this forum less than a week, and I've already gotten a 'Fonz' - is this a record?

RE: Button Blunder

I'm not sure if it's a record Toby, most newbies have tails of utter stupidity on the shooting line!
The measure of a good Fonz winner is 'how often', not 'how soon'.
Take a leaf out of Kevin H's book. Already a holder of our most prestigious honour, Kevin constantly tries to raise the bar, to push the envelope, to think outside the box.
Only a couple of weeks ago, Kevin accidently un-nocked his arrow at full draw resulting in a "dry fire". And because he chooses to use a bow without proper limb pockets , he was left holding a bare riser, and wondering why he had a pile of limbs, string and arrow on the ground at his feet!
The man's fast becoming a legend!
(Sadly, I didn't see this incident because he's started "shooting for the other team".) (And using pink fletchings. )

I really wish someone had videoed that, it sounds spectacular

I think it still deserves a 'Fonz' Goldy

RE: Button Blunder

Well go on then, but Sharon won't thank me. She's already got enough "dusting obstacles" on their already burgeoning mantle piece.
