| trying inferior club equipent ends in pain so i was shooting at the normal friday afternoon practice today. thought i would try one of the clubs light bows, barebow "for a laugh". so i go to the cupboard and string up a wooden riser 26lb bow and grab a handfull of club arrows in assorted lengths and fletchings.
shortly after the whistle was blown i held up the riser, drew the string to my face, pushed my left arm out untill the non-existant clicker clicked. my elbow locked at -3degrees and i loosed the arrow along with two strips of skin from my left elbow which are now attached to the br*ss nocking points on the string. ouch!
so i moved my bracer up to my elbow accompanied by the sound of snapping plastic (another doh! moment) and drew again keeping my arm slightly bent. this time the string hit my mid fore arm on the rebound after the arrow was loosed and left a lovely red mark. im gonna look like a real pro at the shoot tomorrow! |
