Upside down bow

Well, about 13 years ago we held our usual April FITA at Wolverhampton Company of Archers. (It`s a York now, and soon to be a 720).

I had set up all my kit, assembled my recurve - a 2nd hand Yamaha at the time, and put myself in a zen like state of calm as archers A and B walked to the line for sighters. I was archer C.

I looked down at my fully assembled bow and what did I see? I saw upside down limbs - they were looking at me.

You have NEVER seen a faster take-down of a bow and re-assembly.

I was JUST in time.

OK, stupid question, but how can you tell? My limbs look the same. They don't have any markings to say which is top and bottom, in fact, they only seem to click in one way.

LOL click. The bottum one is the one with your poundage markings on and the top limb is the one that only says winner on the front (you have the same limbs as my dad )

Mine both have poundage markings on them, Danny. I know how to put them on -- they only seem to go in one way. I guess I'm safe.

Some W&W limbs have a sticker on each limb (the later ones) which give #age, srial nos and should say 'top' and 'bottom' in small writing..earlier ones have the #age marked on the bottom limb - transfer under the varnish, this will normally only be marked on the bottom limb.

Well, I've looked them over and can't see *top* or *bottom* on either. Both limbs have poundage stickers. Go figure...

Someone's sold you two bottom limbs?!

They're international fit so they will go in either way around. Any limb should go in any pocket - if it won't, then something's bent.

Would that explain why my shooting is crap?? I think I have the proper limbs -- one says Winner, one says Striker.
