I'd better own up to this myself before someone else does it for me.
A little background first - I have been struggling with a form of target panic recently in the guise of struggling to get through the clicker, resulting in many aborted shots and some arrows shot through the clicker. But that's not what this is about...
Today at the North Wales champs at Shotton when I first set up my bow I noticed the bracing height was a little low, corrected this witha few extra twists to the string and proceeded to shoot sighter - strangely I was shooting well over the boss and needed to move my sight half a inch to compensate!?
I carried on through most of the day struggling more than ever to get through the clicker, coming down up to 6 times on some arrows. Convinced it was all in my head I struggled on with some pretty ok, if difficult, results until about the 9th dozen when glancing at my bow I noticed the dovetail joint of the bottom limb was not slotted in! I had been shooting an extra few pounds all day! And was also lucky to not have the bow come apart in my face!
One more check to make before shooting now on the list! Been shooting since 1988 and never done that before - and never will again.
