Longbow training aids

Until the beginning of the year I have shot regular - about 40 shoots in 2006 - clout sessions with my 60lb longbow.

I was shooting at a reasonable standard and could shoot all day without finding it any strain at all. I was even considering moving up to 70lb or possibly a little more.

However, work circumstances have changed (now based in UAE and Africa -and will be for at least the next couple of years). I came back last weekend and joined the club shoot (which at 160 yd maximum is hardly heavy distances - I used to be quite happy up to 220 yds with that bow) for the first time in 15 weeks. I was amazed how hard I found it to maintain a full draw and how tired and aching I was by the end of a 2 hour shoot.

As I plan to come back to the UK 2 or 3 times a year and take part in fairly competitive (roving mark - so greater distances and shooting all day) events when I do I obvioulsy need to take a training device with me (not practicalto take/use the bow) in order to regain and maintain strength.

So simple question - what is the best training aid for this purpose ?
