| Beiter Nock Point help Ok I've been having a bit of trouble getting the nock point to connect around the string, this is my best effort so far: Nock Point How can i get it on nice and tight as I serve it on? Maybe i just need to get another person to help hold down tight whilst i tie. (I've already read the beiter guide so no need for the link )It does fit in the nocks and rotate ok, and they seem to shoot alright, but i'm worries the asymetry could cause problems, or it could come undone somehow |

| I've had a few problems with these - not least because there seems to be a lack of knowledge as far as the suppliers go regarding sizes. I prefer the threaded type to the 'cotton-reel' because I seem to have less hassle with them. Two methods I've used with some success to hold it whilst at least one side is served: tie (nocking point fashion) a bit of spare serving around the middle (just realised a small cable tie could be excellent for this - have to give it a go!), or alternatively use a mini spring clamp. The latter is fine as long as it doesn't keep springing off as you serve. As far as problems later as a result of the asymetry main one seems to be splitting at the shoulder allowing one side to open up.

| Ah, the cable tie idea is clever! As long as i can make sure i cut the right piece of cheap plastic to get it off! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Just checked - the poundshop tubs of multi-coloured ones are just the right size! ![]()

| Point #1 - if you can't get it to close and stay closed, it's probably too tight. Consider a larger nock point or fewer strands. Your nock point the way you have it will do you no favours. Point #2 - keeping it closed while serving - I just put a spare nock on it, problem solved. Point #3 - stopping it moving while you serve it - not easy, but I've has some success taping one end with masking tape while I serve the other.

| So a size 2 one will probably fit better on the string? I'll try another go later using something to hold it tight, if it doesn't I'll get a larger one. As it happens i have a spare set of size 2 nocks for my navs, but I'd need to re-order for my platinums. And cheers for the help! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I've had this problem in the past. A newly made string will that hasn't seen any centre serving will be too thick to take a beiter nock point comfortably. What I do is tightly serve over the area that you will position the nocking point, lock it off and leave it for a couple of hours or even over night. Remove the serving and the string strands will be tightly bound together enabling a comfy fit of the Nock point. Hope this helps. Martin

| Well there was absolutely no way a size 1 was going to fit on my string, but i've managed to get a size 2 on nice and tidely now, so cheers for all your advice! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
