I'm getting shot of my aging redlines and have a dozen navigators on order. Im waiting on a grain scale as well so unlike my past arrows that have been thrown together I'm going to spend some time getting these as closely matched as possible.

I have read this about nock tuning and it sounds interesting, but what i was wondering is... is it worth me doing? my scores are moving into 1st class, and i think i will pull off first class this season quite comfortably. At this level, will i notice the difference? or is it something that you will only notice making a difference a BM or GMB level?

It'll make a difference, even if it just elevates your own confidence in your equipment. however you need to be able to shoot fairly consistently to get groups good enough to take any measure from, bare shafts let you get away with very little if shooting them over any distance.

take any advantage, especially in equipment that you can get.

You will have the confidence and satisfaction of the best performing equipment. You might need a decision in a comp and it comes down to the number of golds you have scored or the number of hits.

Nock tuning? Nah...not worth it mate...

"It involved using a vice (like a gun vice, only made for purpose) to shoot a bow with perfect consistence...

And when I say perfect... I DO mean 1440 FITA every time, the thing put arrows is the same hole every time, as the arrow was shot identically every time."

i used to do use the bath method with ACEs

i put symetrical nocks in each end fo the shaft but at opposite right angles (if that makes sense) to each other.

then i ran some water in the bath and added a small amount of washing up liquid to help break the surface tension a bit. add one arrow at a time and let it settle then mark the side that ends up face up - use this as the #### fletching position.

i think this is more of a rough guide though and i have never done the test mentioned here but i may try it with my next set of arrows. especially if X10s sink....
