Question Sight pin needs adjustment for different distances

Hello All
If I change target distance from say 20yds to 6oyds, I have to change mysight pin left right adjustment by about 6mm,and for a 40yd distance I would have to compensate by 3mm, I am not sure why, I have been shooting since May/June last year. I think my bow is aligned vertically, when I shoot.
Any ideas, or is this normal?

you need to check that your sight track is also vertical, IE. running parallel with the string, from there do some walk back shooting from 15-50yds adjust pressure button depth and or tension so get central impacts at all distances.

Your sight track isn't aligned with your bow.

Even if your holding your bow straight, if your sight track is wonky, then it'll never be straight .

This is the first thing to check. If it is aligned, then the second step is to look at your bow tune, but I have a suspicion that this is the problem.

Kae.

Assuming you are altering the extension for distance, check the extension on the sight is straight (mine isn't) - if it is then check that the alignment is square to the bow.

Thanks

Hello Tel
I keep the sight pin extension on the same hole for 60yds as well as 2oyds, I will check vertical alignment with bow. In response to Kae reply, my arrows seem stick in the boss reasonably straight, so I assume my button is set correct.

No, that only shows that your fletching's are straightening the arrow by the time it hits the boss.

Kae.

Fair enough - I leapt on that possibility because its one I'm all too aware of!

Question

Hello Kae
I haven't checked the vertical alignment with bow yet, I will though, if checks out OK, then I will have to do this walk back test you describe, adjusting the button pressure and button position, what does this entail, can I instead tune the bow using unfletched arrows shooting at 20yds, or is this not the full story.
Jeff
