dont know if anyone has suggested or you already use this idea but thought I would mention it anyway maybe you could use some of the field fun shoot Ideas i.e draw a snowman on an old target face (reverse) and award points for certain areas eg

snowmans belly 1 point snowmans nose 3 points and snowmans hat 2 points

or 3 shapes with different scores hidden on the reverse of the drawing

We found that this can be adapted with anything we tend to use these Ideas when we arrange fun shoots for our juniors.

That or go for some of the fun shoot ideas mentioned elsewhere on AIUK.

One more hint - use a chessboard pattern. All kids shoot & then you open an envelope & see which square was the winning one. Strangely it all works out just fair at the end & never has that one square with the prize that nobody manages to hit.
At our last club night before Christmas we have a fun shoot and amongst the targets was a plush Santa, I've never seen such determination trying to shoot Santa in the Jacksies,( try hanging a little brown bag and telling the little dears not to hit it or the poor kitten won't like it, I bet they hit it every time.)By the way for anyone reading this who may be of a somewhat sensitive nature the part of the last sentence contained inside the brackets is a JOKE

That reminded me of the "beetle drive" we did with our junior club recently.
Big picture of a beetle (body, head, legs and feelers or antennae for the posh ones). You have to hit the body first then legs or head. Head comes before feelers. Winner was the first to hit body, head, 2 feelers and 6 legs. Each kid had a picture of the bug to colour in as they shot its bits.
We were going to do it like a proper beetle drive and include a dice so you had to "throw" a six before you could go for a body etc.
The smallest legs of the bug were quite hard to hit, but given enough time and arrows, everyone managed it (event the adult compounders)

Having done several parties for kids & adults, I have found the secret is "Have fun". Challenges, balloons all are good. Have variable distances to suit age/size.
I have found that if there are one or two "Small children" in the group, let 'em play, help them to shoot the arrow The kiddies will love you, Mums/Dads as well will love you, & if you do get a gold between you, you'll be taking bookings for the next 12 months or more.
I have regulars come back asking for new challenges for their next party.
