Going over your scoresheets! And aiming!

I have a good system for recording my scores in competition and practice and if a bad arrow score occurs I have a little code for writing down quickly next to that arrow score what I think went wrong with the arrow.
Here is my code: -
PR - Poor release
RT - Released off of target (Clicker slave)
BO - Blown off target as expanded and released
CT - Cant tell what happened
BW - Bad Wind Compensation
As Ive got a very good memory and good visualisation skills I mark them down on my own score sheet when scoring. It allows me to actually see what happened after the event and has helped me put some things right in the past at the time or when I look through my score sheets after the event. Its just a little thing but it might help you understand what happened after the event as its still fresh in the mind, whether its training or competing.
Aiming! I have played a bit this winter with my kids on the PS2 and we have been playing the Olympic archery game Athens. Now I hadn't really though of it before but while playing the game I learnt a new archery skill and it certainly helped me over the last weekend!
That new skill was to hold and to get to my release point early and release as my sight passed over my aiming point while not having it in my head to keep the bow dead steady on the GOLD and getting panicky about it.
Mind you I'm glad that my target doesn't appear to get smaller the longer you hold it a sit does in the game. Has it helped? Ow yes I think it has, give it a go and see for yourself.
Do you do something similar?

Thank you IMPA, you've got a pretty cool plan, as reguards having a way to practice constructively and having something to aim for, whilst being able to have a clear view of what progress is being made and where more practice is required

I would imagine that this would be a good system to use, not just for experienced archers, but also for beginners who are only beginning to learn to shoot in portsmouth rounds, etc

In fact, I'll be shooting a portsmouth round tonight at the club, and so, I'll write these down and take note of them and learn them by tonight for future progress, although I hope that I won't need the SOWT and if I do, then it'll be back to the opticians for me lol

Willie

I wondered which one of you two delinquents would get the jibe in first and yes I will have to add to my repertoire "S O W T B"! ! Because thats what I said when I realised what Id done. A sea of archers parted to allow me to cry in my tent alone.
